We have recently seen a number of websites running outdated PHP scripts/applications which poses a huge security risk. Over the last few days, a number of websites have been hacked, all of which were running outdated versions of Joomla or WordPress. We have identified a large number of websites which are also running outdated versions of these and other scripts.
Please can all customers check the scripts running on your websites and install all available updates for your scripts if you are not running the latest versions.
In particular, I must strongly urge all customers running Joomla version 1.5 to migrate your websites to a newer version, as the final update to the 1.5 series was released over 18 months ago and is known to be vulnerable to hackers. As there is no direct upgrade available for Joomla 1.5 you will need to migrate your websites to a newer version manually.
